ABOUT CAROL VELANDIA
Hi! I am an undergrad at the University of Florida pursuing degrees in Art History and Political Science with a specialization in Latin American Studies. With a background in humanities education, I am passionate about serving museum spaces by engaging with audiences of all backgrounds to connect with the ancient arts of Central Mexico and the larger American continent. Influenced by my time as a student, educator, and intern, I plan to pursue a graduate degree researching the ancient arts of the Mexica and their interactions with Indigenous bodies and epistemologies. I aspire to incite new dialogues and contribute new understandings of Mesoamerican art and culture through research and curation.
