I\'m the Engineering Director at Celestia-UK, an innovative Electronic Phased Array Antenna SME, where I’m responsible for the Engineering Team in the UK and Portugal and the technical development of the Gateways.I was previously Interim Head of Electronics Engineering at Leonardo, an executive role, overseeing the business’ electronic processes, tools and resource planning. Alongside receiving the degree of Doctor of Engineering in System Level Integration from the Universities of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt and an HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Edinburgh Napier University, I have won many technology and diversity awards, including an Honorary Degree of Doctor by Edinburgh Napier University, Strathclyde Alumni of the Year, and I was awarded an OBE in 2020 for services to diversity and inclusion in Electronic Engineering. From 2020 to 2023 I was a Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor at Edinburgh Napier University,I began my volunteering career in the IET, when I became a Fellow in 2012 and since then I have been Treasurer and Chair of the Scotland South East (SSE) Local Network (LN), Chair of IET Scotland and Chair of IET Council. I am now a Vice President, Trustee, Chair of the Volunteer Engagement Board (VEB), a Fellow Advisor, and a Professional Registration Advisor and Interviewer.I am the Deacon of the Hammermen of Edinburgh, a member of the Edinburgh Convenery and a Burgess; Vice President of the Royal Scottish Society of Arts (RSSA); Trustee of the Institution of Engineers in Scotland (IES); Treasurer of Engineering Scotland; Member of the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) Board and the Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers (AFBE) UK Advisory Board.I am a Past President of the Women’s Engineering Society (WES), a Chartered Engineer, EUR ING, Honorary Fellow of the IES, Fellow of the IET, RSSA and WES and a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers enjoy presenting on both technical and diversity topics and have given over 100 presentations.
