About Caroline Horizny Mitchell

After obtaining my PhD in Nanoscale Science, I knew I wanted to combine my scientific expertise with my additional experience: marketing, intellectual property (IP), and entrepreneurship in a corporate role. In 2018 I joined Taconic Biosciences as “the scientist in marketing”, tasked with managing the development of our scientific content for multiple platforms and audiences. Originally (and officially) the Scientific Technical Writer, I am now the Senior Manager of Content Strategy and have since discovered that being adaptable and perceptive has enabled our department, company, and, accordingly, my role to grow and evolve. I’m currently managing the multimedia content strategy which includes an indispensable alignment with demand generation. The proper development of thoughtful content and the collaboration with key internal & external stakeholders is an integral part of succeeding in today’s digital-first environment. To keep my creative side entertained, I photograph events and design websites for local businesses whenever possible. When not working, you can find me cooking or spending time outdoors with my family and miniature dachshunds.
