ABOUT CAROLINE CARR

As BTO’s Chair, my role is to set a positive tone and high governance standards in our firm, as well as having an ambassadorial function. I am committed to playing an important role in shaping the firm’s strategic direction over the coming years, leveraging my commercial experience gained as a seasoned employment lawyer, to promote our corporate identity, nurture our talent and inspire BTO and our colleagues to reach their full potential.I also remain a partner in BTO\'s well regarded and ranked employment team working with commercial clients in the public and private sectors and also with individual clients in managing employment issues and offering HR support on the full range of employment matters. This ranges from redundancy and restructure advice to companies to negotiating significant exit packages for senior executives. The fun part of the role is that it involves working with people, and people issues on a daily basis and teaching others through seminars and workshops. A significant area of my practise is assisting doctors and dentists and other professionals in regulatory matters and disciplinary/ investigations and employment situations and in that regard, I work closely with colleagues in our regulatory and clinical defence teams to ensure the professional is protected on all fronts - at work and with the Regulator.Whilst most of our clients are based in the UK, for clients with an international dimension we can call on the assistance of lawyers from across the globe through our membership of Mackrell International, a global network of law firms. No two clients are the same and no two days are the same in this role and I continue to enjoy supporting clients through situations at work.
