ABOUT CAROLINE WATSON
I am a passionate auditor with 19 years’ experience working with owner managed businesses both small and large as well as PE backed businesses. I really enjoy learning about my clients’ businesses, understanding their aspirations and challenges, discussing issues with decision makers and delivering an efficient, robust audit. A solid understanding of how the business works assists with our audit work and also allows us to make recommendations resulting from our work.I have acted as part of multinational audit teams both as lead auditor and subsidiary auditor giving me a strong understanding of the requirements from both prospective. My management and leadership skills have been further enhanced by internal management roles. Developing people and the teams that I work with is important to me and is valued by those I work with. I am an active member of RSM\'s Empower network.My client portfolio focuses on the property, telecoms, consultancy and retail sectors each of which has its own challenges and issues. Regular, honest communication throughout the audit allows me to identify and resolve issues quickly while keeping management up to date.The challenges of new regulation and availability of new technology mean that I am continuously considering our audit approach and how this can be adapted and improved to maintain a robust audit.
