About Caroline Hebert
Currently, I am pursing an English major with a concentration in Rhetoric, Writing, and Culture at Louisiana State University. I am planning to attend law school after I graduate with an undergraduate degree in May 2022. Being able to concentrate on the rhetorical and written aspects of English through my major, I have been given the opportunity to learn to use and see English as a tool when forming arguments and making valid points. This focus on English has given me a unique ability to use writing and language as a tool when facing issues or unique situations. Throughout high school and into college, I sparked an interest in how the law works by shadowing a judge in Jefferson Parish in the city of New Orleans. This had a snowball effect and lead me wanting to know and understand every aspect of how a lawyer approaches and hopefully wins a case. I am especially interested in both criminal and family law - due to my view of how both fields aim to help people live better lives. I began volunteering for a non-profit in North Baton Rouge, La where I now serve as a board member. The non-profit works in the poverty stricken area of the city, which is where I have watched young children grow up into teens and young adults. Some of their family and eventually some of them have has to deal with a court case without suitable representation - which pushes me to be passionate about being a lawyer so that justice is sought after for all people, despite what their backgrounds are. I am passionate, highly determined, and embody a strong work ethic - all of these characteristics which I hope to apply in my future career as an attorney. My determination and relentless persistence to constantly exceed my expectations of myself is a quality that I keep as a priority to represent in every course, life-experience, and job that I commit to.
