I would describe my current clinical style as eclectic, existential and evidence based. I currently treat 20+ distinct diagnoses, making evidence-based approaches critical. At present I am using Interoceptive ERP to treat agoraphobia & panic disorder, leading a DBT group for clients that struggle with NSSIB and suicidality, and conducting STAIR narrative therapy with complex trauma survivors. Infusing existential inquiry in my approach is of equal import, as I see the task of therapy as a process of removal and addition. Effective therapy moves us towards a life of meaning, not merely away from deleterious patterns and behaviors. Levity, irreverence and humor are also cherished clinical tools. As a licensed psychotherapist and LMSW, I am currently working at Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, with a focus on community mental health in one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York City, Jackson Heights. The role involves managing a high-acuity, culturally diverse caseload with clients from over 15 countries. Skilled in crisis intervention, complex trauma treatment, and the impact of migration and acculturation on identity development, they also lead a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) group at the CCBQ Corona Behavioral Health Clinic.
