WORK HISTORY
Cafe Manager General Manager @Forecast Coffee Roasters
Vancouver, BC, CA
Hired to open Forecast Coffee’s Slocan location and build it into a functioning daily operation. Taking ownership of the on-the-ground reality, I developed, tested, and refined the systems and workflows that actually held under service pressure. Where existing frameworks weren’t working, I rebuilt them. The result is an operation that runs with clarity, consistency, and a team that genuinely owns what they do. ∙ Directed the full opening across FOH and BOH - hiring, onboarding, scheduling, vendor relationships, inventory, and workflow design. ∙ Rebuilt a kitchen program that lacked accountability structures - redesigning workflows, rotation protocols, and prep systems for a full-service kitchen running grill, brunch and lunch, baking, and technical preparation. ∙ Trained specialty coffee professionals to operate a complete kitchen to a consistent standard, building technical skill and operational confidence from scratch. ∙ Designed time-blocked task systems across FOH and BOH, eliminating service inconsistencies and optimizing both peak and quiet periods. ∙ Built a specialty coffee culture grounded in sensory education - developing team palate, quality discernment, and genuine craft investment. ∙ Managed labour planning through hourly cost analysis and trend monitoring to balance financial performance with team sustainability. ∙ Developed supervisors toward autonomous leadership through structured coaching and defined performance frameworks.

ABOUT CAROLINE G ROBERT
Great hospitality operations don\'t happen by accident. They are designed, built, and led with intention. With over seven years of experience opening and operating specialty coffee and food programs across four countries, I specialize in building the operational foundations that allow hospitality concepts to perform with consistency, quality, and culture intact.I have opened multiple locations from the ground up - each time building full FOH and BOH infrastructure from scratch. At Forecast Coffee Slocan, I launched a complete cafe and kitchen program, developing an entirely new team into a high-functioning operation through structured systems, training, and a culture of genuine ownership. At Phil & Sebastian Coffee Roasters, I was entrusted with full operational autonomy and selected to open a second flagship location. At Aritzia, I led the A-OK Cafe to become one of the brand\'s top three highest-volume locations - 300+ daily transactions with a two-person team - through intelligent workflow and batch preparation design. My approach is grounded in data and expressed through people. I use labour cost analysis, waste tracking, ticket time monitoring, and trend data to make proactive decisions. I build teams that operate with autonomy because they understand the standards they uphold and take pride in them. Specialty coffee means sensory education, not just technique - I invest in developing the palate and discernment of every person on my team.French-trained in culinary arts and hospitality management. Bilingual in English and French. Based in Vancouver.I am drawn to concepts where hospitality is part of a larger brand identity - where the experience, the culture, and the quality of what is served all mean something beyond the transaction.
