About Carolina Arroyo-Solveson

I have more than fifteen years of working experience in leadership positions in the educational field. My background is in business and education with extensive experience managing programs for children and families. Equity, diversity and inclusion are at the center of my work. My work has received public attention. I was recently interviewed by KQED and NBC Bay Area interviewed me by Damian Trujillo and published \"Promotores\" on Comunidad Del Valle on January 23, 2016. Working with low-income under-served communities is my passion and I offer a unique mix of expertise that includes community building and organizing, strategic planning, staff training and supervision, program and curriculum design, outreach, marketing and web development, public speaking, and corporate and non-profit management. I have successfully implemented and managed programs for children and families in Tracy, Oakland and Hayward. As a Spanish native speaker, I had the opportunity to work with people of diverse economic, ethnic and cultural background. This skill has provided me great opportunities to demonstrate my strengths as a leader, educator and community organizer.    As a Community Engagement Manager I work collaboratively with the Director of the Development and Community Relations developing partnerships and leading various community engagement initiatives including the volunteers, Promotoras de Salud, promoting department advocacy initiatives, and community-based health education activities. As part of my responsibilities I work on multiple levels to ensure The Development department objectives are met according to the BayArea Community Health program parameters and goals. We serve patients of all ages in the Alameda and Santa Clara Counties. Among these responsibilities are partnerships development, community health promotion, empowerment and preventive education always delivered in a culturally competent and linguistically sensitive approach. This position works collaboratively with the Director and other BACH staff and departments within the organization serving as a true liaison with both internally and externally partners, in the interest of supporting BACH mission and goals.
