Senior Leader: Serve as principal legal advisor to the Chief Executive Officer and the North America Senior Leadership Team, providing effective and expert counsel related to operating strategy, business risk, and all legal and regulatory matters affecting the Company. Lead two teams (Compliance and Legal) across US, Canada, and Mexico, ensuring team cohesion across subject matter expertise, language differences, and diverse regulatory environments. Compliance: Spearhead implementation of the Global Compliance Program, setting corresponding regional compliance priorities and standards. Design, develop, and implement a complimentary Regional Compliance Program based on local regulatory risks and requirements. Develop and oversee control systems to prevent and address breaches of internal policies or regulatory standards. Lead remedial actions to address identified compliance and regulatory breaches. Design, develop, and implement the Regional Compliance Training Program to ensure engagement and a healthy compliance culture across the organization. Regulatory: Represent the Company before regulatory agencies and manage response to all inquiries and audits, ensuring that regulatory compliance and positive relations are maintained with all state, federal, and provincial regulators. Ensure the timely submission of all regulatory filings to insurance regulatory agencies and other regulators, including insurance policy rate and form filings. Contracts, Litigation, and M&A : Counsel, direct, and advise Company departments and the Senior Leadership team on matters of all legal contracts and disputes, licenses, purchase agreements, vendor engagements, real estate leases, litigation, employment issues, claims disputes, mergers, divestitures, joint ventures, partnerships, and other complex corporate transactions.
