ABOUT CAROLE NICKSIN
The opportunity to think creatively is hands-down what I love most about my role as editor and publisher of Milwaukee Magazine. Coming in as a strong second is how varied my responsibilities are, allowing me to nerd-out over a P&L spreadsheet, incentivize a sales team, strategize new revenue streams and spend time talking to people in our community about what’s important to them (while keeping an eye out for something that will make a riveting story in an upcoming issue.) At my core, I’m a storyteller, with years of experience shaping words, photos, illustrations and graphic design to connect with readers. I have a high level of visual acuity and come to life directing and producing photo shoots. But then, I like to retreat to my desk and use the other half of my brain to balance the budget. As a life-long learner with a deep well of curiosity, I welcome the opportunity to use my skill set in new ways, helping others craft a brand story and image that resonates with a particular audience.
