ABOUT CAROLE GILBERT
Experienced legal professional responsible for advising on legal requirements across various operating jurisdictions. I provide strategic and timely legal counsel on all matters related to corporate acquisitions, commercial agreements, corporate disclosure and compliance, and business decisions. Oversight of governance initiatives, including subsidiary matters, policy revisions, implementation and training. Experience with First Nations negotiations and managing legal aspects of internal reorganizations as well as sustainability initiatives and reporting. I previously practiced corporate and commercial law in private practice, with a focus on corporate governance, public and private mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and securities matters, particularly in the mining sector. My practice also included risk advisory on international standards of social risk management, anti-corruption and human rights due diligence. I am also a geologist and have spent several years in mineral exploration for gold, uranium and iron ore in Canada (Labrador), Australia (Northern Territory and Western Australia), Mali (Yanfolila gold belt) and Guyana (West Omai). My experience includes greenfields and brownfields exploration for majors and juniors.
