ABOUT CAROLA SMITH
Prior to serving in my current role as Acting VP of the SBCC School of Extended Learning, I served as Dean of Educational Programs at Santa Barbara City College. In this role, I provided oversight for the Jack & Julie Nadel School of Business and Entrepreneurship, the Scheinfeld Center of Entrepreneurship & Innovation, the SBCC Business Division, the institution\'s Media Arts programs, the Schall Career Center, the SBCC Study Abroad Program and the International Student Support Program. Additionally, I serve on a variety of campus-wide committees, task forces, and work groups. I have held various leadership roles within the NAFSA Academy and served two terms as Chair of the NAFSA Academy. For the past year, I have served as a content developer and trainer in the NAFSA Management Development Program. I frequently present at regional, national, and international on topics pertaining to international education, enrollment management, and program development. I came to the US as an international student and earned my Bachelors and Masters Degree as well as my Teaching Certificate in English as a Second Language from the University of California, Santa Barbara. I have lived and traveled abroad extensively and consider myself a product of international education.
