ABOUT CAROL YUR

My practice focuses on employment law counseling and partnering with companies of all sizes and industries to serve as a trusted advisor for their employment needs. In addition, with over 10 years of litigation experience, I bridge the gap between risk management and effective legal strategy.I have counseled employers on federal, state, and local employment laws, including personnel policies and practices, wage and hour, leaves of absence and accommodations, reductions in force, risk management, internal investigations, litigation avoidance, and worker trainings and compliance.In addition, I have significant experience representing clients in complex employment and civil litigation in both the trial courts and on appeal- I have defended employers in wage and hour class actions and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) lawsuits, in cases alleging employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, and in administrative actions before the California Civil Rights Department, California Labor Commissioner’s Office, and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission- I represented clients in complex business disputes involving breach of contract and fraud.I have also twice served as a law clerk, first to Judge Lois H. Goodman of the U.S. District Court of New Jersey, where I analyzed and reviewed motions and letter requests in employment-related cases, breach of contract actions, and other civil matters; and then in Los Angeles County Superior Court, where I drafted opinions on demurrers; writs of mandate and attachment; and various motions, including for an appointment of a receiver, injunctive relief, and set-aside of a default judgment.
