About Carol Viluethpad

Carol Viluethpad graduated with her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Wichita State University with minors in Mathematics and French. She has leadership and strategic communication experience as a former men’s varsity coxswain for the Shocker Rowing Team and the two-term president for the WSU section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). She developed a partnership between SWE and Truesdell Middle School to mentor their Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) Program in hopes of creating a middle school through university student pipeline. Under a NASA grant as a McNair scholar, Carol had opportunities to conduct and present her preliminary research to verify the capabilities of a noninvasive biosensor to measure distances by spectroscopy for eventual use within the space suit to avoid injuries. She hopes to continue to apply her creativity and engineering knowledge in a career focused on research and development within the biotech or aerospace industries.
