ABOUT CARMEN TORRES-SÁNCHEZ FIMECHE
My main research interests are the design and advanced manufacture of multifunctional, bio-instructive, bio-inspired materials and structures; the manufacture of lightweight and porous materials with an internal architecture tailored to meet specific requirements (i.e. structural and bio-mimetic materials). Flexible and small-scale but fully functional manufacturing modules that allow the acceleration of product innovation to support SMEs is a driving force behind what I do in the Multifunctional Materials Manufacturing Lab. Specialties: Design, Manufacturing, Validation; Simulation; Experimentation; Materials engineering, Flexible engineering; Data acquisition, Data science; Lighweighting; Porous structures for biomedical applications. Reviewer and Assessor of Research, R&D, Innovation Proposals to Government Agencies (UKRI, EPSRC, Innovate UK, Rosetrees Trust, etc) in the UK and other countrires in the EU. External Examiner to Postgraduate Research and Taught Programmes in the UK and EU. Reviewer and Editorial tasks for International Journals.
