ABOUT CARMEN SANGES

I am Carmen Sanges, PhD, an experienced scientific project lead specializing in Cellular Immunotherapy, regulatory strategies, and stakeholder engagement in advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs). I bring seven years of industry experience in the management of global clinical trials, enhancing my ability to effectively bridge academia, industry, and regulatory landscapes. Currently, I serve as the EU Initiatives Scientific and Strategic Project Lead within the Cellular Immunotherapy Program at the University Clinic Würzburg (UKW).Since November 2020, I have been coordinating the European #T2EVOLVE consortium, funded by IMI and the European Commission under Horizon 2020. As part of the lead coordination team, I facilitate strategic decision-making across multiple Work Packages (WPs), promote synergies between consortium partners, and oversee stakeholder engagement initiatives to accelerate innovation in cell and gene therapy across Europe. I am pivotal in establishing synergistic collaborations between T2EVOLVE and other current CAR-T initiatives across Europe, such as GoCART, EuroGCT, Dare-NL, Oncode Accelerator, etc. as well as fostering international collaborations with partners in Canada (BioCanRx), the USA, and Australia. I actively organize, lead, and moderate high-impact roundtable discussions and expert panels on critical topics in the CAR-T and advanced therapies landscape, such as regulatory harmonization, innovative pricing models, genotoxicity assessment, preclinical models, and patient education.I am also integral to T2EVOLVE\'s Communications and Dissemination core team, driving initiatives that have significantly expanded community engagement—reflected in a 46% user increase on the T2EVOLVE platform and a substantial rise in social media visibility.Beyond T2EVOLVE, I significantly contribute to several EU initiatives:Leading clinical readiness and regulatory strategies within the #AIDPATH consortium, advancing the clinical application of an innovative AI-driven ATMP manufacturing platform on the Regulatory Board for the ImSAVAR EU project (https://imsavar.eu/).Actively participating in the EUCCAT working group at EUHA member of the #JOIN4ATMP partner in the recently funded EU project #CERTAINTY.Advisory Board member of the #ASCERTAIN project.Member of the Patient Engagement team in #EASYGEN
