ABOUT CARMENCITA BUA
After leading Continuum Innovation for the last five years as COO, I am now excited to enter the world of Mental Care and social integration in adults with disability. Taking advantage of my past classical studies, one of the principle of the Sixteen Century was a movement called “regolismo”; the world “regolismo” has the same roots as “regole” which means “rules” in English.These rules needed to apply in all areas of the social life, the production of art and literature inaccordance with the balance and harmony of the Humanism in contrast with the disorder of the MiddleAges. Our rules are humanistic-ally designed to support our loved ones in becoming as independentfrom their families as they can and when is a lengthy process, we need to provide them rules ofharmony with the world and the people in the family.As such, we designed this program as a spring/summer “family experience” with activities for the rest ofthe family in the farm. When students remain for our two year program, we have constant family meetings and virtual reality experiences to help with distance.
