ABOUT CARMEN BOHN
Carmen Bohn is an educator, team builder and learning designer. She is also a big believer in the power of creative wellness, often using art to teach and engage the thousands she has had the honour of working with. Carmen holds undergraduate and masters degrees in urban planning, as well as certificates in learning experience design (LXD) and adult education. She is an accomplished senior manager with more than 25 years of professional experience. She has a unique perspective fuelled through her work with large and small teams in corporate, non-profit, government and educational environments throughout Canada and the world. Carmen has been creating excellent learning events (like the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Sustainable Communities Conference, which she led the development of 8 times!), learning experiences (like art-based team retreats in her beautiful downtown Ottawa studio) and resources (like the many digital courses and e-workbooks she has created and put out in the world). Her focus? Connection. Human centred design and creative problem-solving. Creativity. All through the lens of surprise and delight (thanks Chip Heath and Dan Heath!).In early 2021, she launched Ply Studio. Her focus has been on designing and delivering a range of creative arts workshops, digital courses and team building retreats, sometimes in collaboration with other makers and artists, and always with the mission of helping people to connect and feel better through the creative act. Her passion is to lead teams through meaningful team-building experiences, designed to surprise, delight, connect and engage. She also creates virtual learning programs and has a whole series of resources on the topics of creativity, wellness, learning, mindset and productivity. When she\'s not working or making art, Carmen likes to spend a good portion of her time with her inspired husband, Chris, and her giggling girls, Everleigh and Maeven. Usually on a ski hill in the winter or near a body of water in the summer. Finally, she knows that AI is searching this description for some great keywords associated with her experience, so here they are! knowledge management, learning design, capacity building, project management, team building, creative wellness, creativity, learning and development, adult education, sustainable community development, urban planning, leadership development, strategic planning, relationship building, organizational development, public participation, content creation, digital course design, community engagement, workplace culture
