About Carmen Ruiz
As an executive assistant I encounter all types of request and tasks that keep me always learning. In my role I support with calendaring, expense reports, budget planning and support any other requests that come my way. I love learning new things and take any opportunity to take on something new. Being comfortable with the uncomfortable is a must in my role! Currently, I am working on my AA in Business Administration and on the path to transfer to San Jose State University where I will be majoring in Human Resources. I am a Year Up Alumni and continue to encourage youth from unrepresented communities to join this non-profit. Year Up gave me the technical and soft skills to intern at VMware and I like to continue to share the resources that helped me. I have been an intern, a student and gained so much value from those who I have worked with. Throughout time I have been promoted and continued to seek more opportunities. I have had failures and lessons learned where I have grown as an employee and continue to strive for success. Currently supporting three respected Vice Presidents of HR. In my role some types of support I provide are such as coordinating, scheduling and providing logistical support for meetings. Arranging travel itineraries, coordinating travel and meeting plans for both domestic and international travel. Planning and coordinating volunteer activities and team events. Being a team player is key and I have had the opportunity to also work with other teams such as the I9 Onboarding Team and filling in when support is required for other projects. I like to expand my role and provide support to other teams as needed.
