ABOUT CARMEN CASERIO

Hello! My name is Carmen, and I am currently a student in the John Martinson Honors College at Purdue University, where I am pursuing a bachelor\'s degree in civil engineering, with a focus in transportation. I have always had a passion for the built environment and the role transportation systems play in moving goods and people. As such, I seek to pursue a career in transportation engineering, either in roadway design, traffic, or planning, to work on projects that effectively solve connectivity issues while also benefiting the community and the environment. Overall, my goal is to apply both my engineering skills and my passion for the cities in which we live to improve and create more walkable, livable communities. Over the past few summers, I have had amazing opportunities to work with a variety of companies in the civil engineering industry, such as CT Consultants, The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc, and HNTB. Through these experiences, I have gained valuable knowledge in areas such as land surveying and roadway design. In addition, I have improved my proficiency with surveying equipment in the field and CAD programs such as Bentley OpenRoads Designer and AutoCAD. I hope to use these skills and experiences to apply them towards achieving my career goals.
