As a Senior Principal Civil Engineer and Hydrology/Hydraulics Lead for Stantec, my role features specialized experience in hydrology, hydraulics, river engineering, and dam safety. Some of the highlights of my experience include- Lead the design of diversion structures and dam-water control/conveyance facilities - Served as an Independent Technical Reviewer and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for several Dambreak Studies, Consequence Assessments and Flood Hydrology Studies- Direct involvement in the hydrologic and hydraulic aspects of more than 80 dam related projects - Extensive experience in all facets of hydro and water resources project development including planning, design and operation of dams and reservoirs - Hydrologic experience includes probabilistic and stochastic hydrologic approaches and tools in support of design criteria selection and dam safety risk inform decisions- Expert of dam failure mode analyses, dam breach studies, inundations studies and loss of life analyses. One of the areas where I am recognized by my peers is in water issues related to dam safety. My career has provided opportunities to develop innovative engineering approaches in my clients\'s projects. These projects range from the design of one of the world\'s largest tailings storage facilities to the removal of low head dams when considering a safety hazard to the recreational users of the rivers. My experience also includes hydraulic structures, dam design, water supply, erosion protection, and sediment transport and river restoration. My year-long experience has provided a special proficiency in translating field observations to representative system models that are used in engineering designs. My global experience merged with a deep understanding of local requirements and challenges allow me to provide to my clients a \"think and act both globally and locally\" approach at the same time.
