As Senior Manager of Corporate & Alumni Relations, I cultivate strategic partnerships that bridge the gap between industry and academia, expanding career and experiential learning opportunities for students while advancing the missions of our corporate partners. ABOUT CARMELLA JOHNS-ANDRUK
Passionate about building bridges between industry and academia, I serve as the Sr. Manager of Corporate & Alumni Relations at the Huntsman School of Business, where I cultivate meaningful partnerships that create career opportunities for students and advance the School’s mission. My background in sales and marketing within the entertainment industry has given me a deep understanding of branding, relationship management, and strategic communication.Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the biggest names in the industry, from serving on Tina Turner and Janet Jackson’s personal management teams to helping launch the fifth broadcast network by training Warner Bros. affiliates across the U.S. on branding and marketing. I’ve also run my own licensing agency, giving me firsthand experience in entrepreneurship and business development.Now, in higher education, I find immense fulfillment in the impact I can make—particularly in mentoring young people. I thrive on creativity, connection, and championing opportunities that help individuals and organizations grow. This year marks our third visit to Edith Bowen Laboratory School\'s Girls Leadership Club, engaging with 30 sixth graders. These mutually enriching experiences provide the Huntsman School of Business student leaders with the opportunity to mentor and inspire, leading workshops that empower young students to see and strive for their full potential.Outside of work, I’m known for my sharp wit, love of travel (especially to warm tropical climates and Europe—Africa is next on my list!), and deep pride in my family.Let’s connect and create opportunities together!
