In 2017, I hosted and produced \"What Is Life?\" a podcast based on a series of live conversations with leading thinkers on the origin and nature of life.In 2009 and 2010, I hosted \"Meet the Scientist,\" a series of interviews about microbiology, produced by the American Society for Microbiology. My latest book is AIR-BORNE: THE HIDDEN HISTORY OF THE LIFE WE BREATHE. It\'s a book about our living atmosphere, from Covid to the clouds.Each week I write the \"Origins\" column for the New York Times. My work also appears regularly in magazines such as National Geographic, Wired, and Scientific American. I speak frequently at conferences, universities, and other venues about what\'s coming next in biology and biotechnology. I\'m also professor adjunct at Yale, where I have taught science writing since 2009.I have received awards for my work from the National Academy of Sciences, the American Association for Science Writing, the National Association of Biology Teachers, and the Online Journalism Association.
