Quanta Technology is a premier provider of planning and operations studies, technology evaluation, engineering standards and maintenance support, and expert advice to the electric power industry. Carl is responsible for developing business and providing management, business and technical consultative services to utility distribution planning and asset management sectors. His team performs grid integration studies for distributed generation projects and distribution planning studies, including load forecasting. His team also supports a myriad of projects from hosting capacity, reliability improvement, grid modernization, distribution operations, DER system impacts, data analytics and electric transportation. Carl’s team has led several projects related to T&D storm hardening assessments and emergency preparedness plans for large electric utilities. Carl has led bench marking studies on distribution and transmission maintenance and construction practices. In 2018 Carl was appointed by the Governor to the Board of Directors for Advanced Energy Corp. In 2013 Carl was appointed by the Governor to the NC Energy Policy Council. In 2012 Carl served on a team to help a distribution utility in India develop a Smart Grid road map. In 2010 Carl was appointed to the Governor\'s Scientific Advisory Panel on Offshore Energy in North Carolina. Carl\'s team provides management and technical consultation and facilitation between developer and the interconnecting utility. Carl\'s team performs advanced engineering and research studies to investigate the impacts of high penetration levels of renewables on the utility grid.
