About Carlton Heard
After graduating with a degree in aerospace and mechanical engineering I went the obvious route of doing neither and instead dove deep into coding in LabVIEW and product marketing. I found a niche with machine vision and industrial robotics but have widened my scope to testing products and quality assurance of many types. The mixture of business and technical acumen has been right up my alley throughout my career and continues to be where I find professional success/gratification. I currently lead a team of engineers dedicated to improving product testing across the entire organization while still finding time to launch LabVIEW and \"get my hands dirty\" with actual coding and defining software architectures/standards. I care more about continuous improvement than determining who was at fault for an existing imperfect process.
