ABOUT CARLOTTA GENNARI

I developed an interdisciplinary knowledge due to my academic background in Political Science and Urban and Environmental Planning. I have been working in Brussels for almost 3 years years, first as a trainee and interim officer at EU Commission (DG RTD) and then as associate for the Land Use programme at the European Climate Foundation, where my work was focused on alternatives to the traditional agri-food production, deforestation-free supply chains and carbon sinks. After ECF, I gained some experience as freelance consultant, delivering research and reports with a focus on EU food systems and specific EU policy files. Lately I moved back to Italy and started working as network coordinator for Slow Food International, engaging with the Slow Food communities in some countries (Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Canada) and coordinating projects there. I am very interested about the climate and environmental transition, in particular I have a passion and experience about: agroecology, alternative and fair food systems including the gender perspective, climate change, strategic litigation and participative approaches. I am also an activist for the environment and a feminist.
