ABOUT CARLOS BOTELLO
As a sophomore accounting major at UTRGV, I am passionate about mastering the language of business and pursuing a career as a CPA. I am honored to be a Luminary Scholar, a prestigious scholarship that fully funds both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees.Through various accounting courses, I’ve built a strong foundation in accounting principles. Alongside my studies, I work as an accountant student assistant at Campus and Auxiliary Services, where I’ve gained experience in journal entries, account reconciliations, and other essential accounting tasks. Additionally, I tutor students at a UTRGV and ECISD partnership collegiate high school in math and economics. My retail experience has helped me develop leadership, customer service, and sales skills, which I constantly apply in my daily life.Currently, I serve as the treasurer for Valley Alliance of Mentors for Opportunities and Scholarships (VAMOS) and the event coordinator for Information Technology Students of America (ITSA). In these roles, I am gaining valuable experience in managing budgets, organizing events, and enhancing my communication and teamwork skills.
