ABOUT CARLO SNICKARS

My professional journey has been always driven by curiosity and interest in learning continuously something new. I spent the first 8 years of my career covering multiple engineering roles, deepening my technology understanding and system thinking. Then I decided to explore professional roles that could boost my business acumen, first as product leader learning the importance of listening the voice of customers, then as business development leader improving my market understanding and commercial skills. In 2021 I had the privilege of being selected for a 3 years leadership program to accelerate my career. Being \"out of the comfort zone\" is now \"my new comfort zone\".I started my career in ABB in 2007, first in Sweden at the R&D center and later designing control systems for the power generation unit based in Genova, Italy. In 2010 I joined GE as project leader for control systems in O&G applications. After 5 years I moved to product leadership where I was responsible for defining the digital strategy for both new units and upgrades markets. My main areas of focus were control systems, connectivity and cyber security. In 2018, few months after GE had acquired Baker Hughes, I have been appointed New Units Industrial Gas Turbine Platform Leader, taking care of this new business development in the industrial market. In 2021 I had the honor for being selected for the IMPACT program, a multi-years program designed to accelerate my leadership growth. I spent 2021 leading the Project Management team for upgrades in Africa learning how to manage a P&L.In 2022 covered the role of Digital Channel Sales Leader for our Bently Nevada business, relocating to Nevada (US) and being responsible for new go-to-market models and business growth.During 2023 and 2024 I was appointed Hydrogen Business Development Leader being responsible for the development of this growing market which is key to decarbonize the energy industry. Most recently I took the role of Platform and Product Director, leading the technology strategy and managing a product portfolio costing of a wide set of different solutions applicable to the hydrogen value chain.
