About Carlos-Luis Brown
Education experience:My name is Carlos-Luis Brown and I currently the Curriculum Team Leader of World Languages for Wilmington Public Schools. I oversee curriculum for grades 6-12 at Wilmington Public Schools and evaluate a department of 15 teachers, in the target languages of Spanish, French, Italian, Latin, and American Sign Language. I also teach three courses: two Spanish and one Latin. Previously:World Language Department Chair for Spanish grades 1-12 and Latin grades 8-12. Experience teaching Spanish from all grade levels 1-12. Experience in designing and implementing curriculum. Implemented technology workshops for teachers to broaden and improve teaching strategies and approaches. Implemented and ran classroom management workshops for department meetings. International Baccalaureate Certification and teaching experience over the last 6 years in Spanish B and 3 years in Theory of Knowledge. Started a Spanish Mentoring program for students new to our school to help fill knowledge gaps individually. Started and current adviser for school newspaper. Started our Spanish club. Coaching experience: Started our Boys\' soccer team. Boys\' soccer head coach at the sub-varsity and varsity level. Started our Boys\' lacrosse team. Boys\' lacrosse head coach at the sub-varsity and assistant coach at the varsity level.Specialties: Spanish, International Baccalaureate Certification in Spanish B and Theory of Knowledge, Experience starting clubs and school organizations.
