About Carlos G. Cuellar
Carlos is part of the executive team and a Managing Director for KPMG’s Trade and Customs Services. He has over 25 years of experience in the enterprise software industry technology and consulting areas, spanning from product enhancement leadership, implementation, product management, and core development. Carlos is focused on providing state-of-the-art solutions in the areas of international commerce and supply chain including process automation and the use of AI. Carlos is a licensed U.S. Customs Broker. Formerly, Carlos was part of the executive team at Origen Technologies, with focus on corporate SAP Solutions and Product Development Strategy in the area of SAP Global Trade Services (GTS). As such, Carlos leads a team of consultants, subject matter experts, architects and developers that concentrates on creating and delivering solutions and products for SAP GTS as a service cloud platform. Previously, Carlos was a Principal Development Architect and Product Owner for the SAP Customer Innovation and Maintenance (CIM) Engineering organization as the Lead Architect for Logistics focusing on SAP GTS (Global Trade Services) projects and was the Head of North America Custom Development practice for Global Trade (SAP GTS). Shortly before, he worked for SAP Active Global Support (AGS) in the Custom Code Management area. Before that, he was a senior developer for SAP GTS. Carlos developed and led the successful certification of the SAP GTS solution for U.S. Imports with the Automated Broker Interface (ABI) system of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. On the export side, he also developed and led the certification of the new version of the U.S. Automated Export System (AES) of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the U.S. Bureau of the Census. Earlier, he was in the SAP Development Support organization, and his duties included product management, support service consulting, customer care, quality management and business coordination. Before joining SAP, he was an officer in the Colombian Navy for 8 years, where he reached the grade of Lieutenant before being honorably discharged at his own request. As Chief Engineer, he was responsible for the entire engineering landscape and personnel for several units afloat. While in the Navy, he earned a bachelor\'s degree in Naval Mechanical Engineering. Carlos received his first master\'s degree in software engineering from Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania in and in May 2010 earned his second master\'s in leadership development from the Pennsylvania State University.
