As a professional engineer at Carollo, my passion lies in supporting communities through innovative problem-solving and sustainable practices, with a particular focus on drinking water and wastewater treatment.One aspect of my work that deeply resonates with me is collaborating with engineers, operators, and city staff on projects that directly impact communities. For instance, I had the opportunity to conduct a bench test study for treatment solutions in a drinking water project. Working closely with the team, we addressed specific water quality challenges, and seeing the positive impact of our efforts on the community\'s well-being further solidified my commitment to this important aspect of environmental engineering.In another project that was profoundly rewarding, I conducted a water demand assessment for the construction of a new water treatment plant. By analyzing water usage patterns and future growth projections, we contributed to the design of a plant that secures a sustainable water supply for the community, facilitating long-term access to safe drinking water.Furthermore, in wastewater treatment, I am dedicated to getting involved in interesting projects that allow me to grow in this fascinating field. Early on in my career, I had the opportunity to conduct a study that significantly reduced water content in wastewater plant sludge, leading to substantial cost savings for our client and promoting responsible waste disposal practices.One of the most meaningful projects I have been involved in was related to contaminated site remediation. Leading an ad-hoc team to conduct a soil investigation for the Exide project in Los Angeles, we sought to gain a comprehensive understanding of the extent of contamination in an area inhabited by underserved communities. This initiative aligned with my strong commitment to prioritizing public health and environmental restoration.As I move forward in my career, I am eager to continue supporting communities and making a positive impact by leveraging the skills I have acquired. My dedication to addressing environmental challenges remains steadfast, and I am enthusiastic about exploring new opportunities to contribute to community well-being. By fostering a collaborative approach and continually expanding my expertise, I aspire to have a deeper and more meaningful impact on the communities we serve.
