ABOUT CARLOS RAMIREZ-MEJIA

MD. Carlos Ramirez-Mejia is a board-certified neurologist and sleep medicine specialist. Committed to advancing patient care, he is actively involved in multiple research trials to provide his patients with access to the latest and most innovative therapies.He is proficient in non-invasive neurovascular studies and complex sleep studies, along Electroencephalography (EEG), Nerve Conduction Studies, and Electromyography (EMG).He earned his medical degree from Caldas University and completed his Internal Medicine internship at George Washington University Hospital. He later conducted groundbreaking research in immunology and molecular biology at Georgetown University and the Naval Medical Research Institute in Bethesda, MD. He then completed his neurology residency at Georgetown University, where he served as Chief Resident, followed by a fellowship in Neurophysiology, Epilepsy, and Sleep Disorders at George Washington University.Currently based in Miami, Florida, MD. Ramirez-Mejia is a key member of Medical Arts Neurology, where he provides specialized care for patients with general neurological conditions, migraines, epilepsy, cognitive decline, dementia, and movement disorders. His expertise extends to early diagnosis and management of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative conditions, helping patients and families navigate complex neurological challenges.Beyond clinical practice, he is a dedicated advocate for neurological patients on Capitol Hill and has served multiple times as a member of the Florida Committee advocating for patients on behalf of the American Academy of Neurology.
