Carlos Manuel RodríguezBloomberg Media Senior Editor – Latin American partnerships Carlos Manuel Rodríguez oversees Bloomberg’s editorial partnerships across Latin America. He currently serves in the editorial board of Bloomberg Businessweek México, and as the executive producer of El Financiero Bloomberg TV channel in México. He is also the executive producer of Bloomberg Línea, an upcoming digital new venture for multiple countries in the region.He joined Bloomberg in 2006, as a Latin America reporter for Bloomberg Television in New York, and became a correspondent for Bloomberg News in México in 2009, covering energy and commodities. He was Bloomberg’s México Bureau Chief from 2013 to 2019, overseeing all México news, including coverage on companies such as Pemex, America Móvil, Cemex. Rodríguez has interviewed influential leaders in the Americas, from President Barack Obama and México’s Andrés Manuel López Obrador to then-Latin American heads of state Felipe Calderón, Vicente Fox, Álvaro Uribe and Oscar Arias. He has also interviewed multiple billionaires in the region, Carlos Slim, Roberto Hernández and Lorenzo Mendoza among others. He started his career in financial markets in 1998 as a trading floor clerk at AG Edwards in Chicago. He later worked as a freelance reporter for the Chicago Tribune’s Spanish-language publication, and then joined Univision as an assignment editor and on-air reporter. He holds a B.A. in Journalism from Roosevelt University, and is the recipient of two Emmy® awards from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.Rodríguez also serves on the board of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) as Financial Officer, helping to further the organization’s mission of advancing minority voices in journalism.
