Manages the EOC and coordinates emergency management functions with State and local governmental agencies and volunteer groups. Coordinates policies/procedures tailored to provide direction and ensure effectiveness in operations. Conducts plan reviews and makes content revisions to improve and strengthen of the content in the plans. Performs a broad range of special assignments directly related to emergency management functional responsibilities outlined within Chapter 252 of the Florida Statue. • Assist the Emergency Manager in supervising activities of the Emergency Operations Center. • Reviews emergency management plans of County Divisions, Departments, and Municipalities, to ensure plans are compatible with the CEMP. • Interprets policies necessary to comply with local, state, and federal law. Analyzes legislation, conduct researches and advises the Mayor of policy and procedural needs. • Acts as Emergency Manager in Emergency Manager absence. Orange County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) trainer and Citizen Corps program manager. • Manages the County Multi-Year training and exercise plan; work closely with State, community partners, public safety officials and volunteer organizations. • Develop, design, and deliver public information and outreach programs relating to disaster preparedness; work closely with the National Weather Service. • Design and implements emergency planning seminars for local businesses relating to emergency management. • Coordinates, design, facilitate and evaluate multi-jurisdictional exercise, which test response and recovery procedures. • Assists in the writing and processing of Federal and State grants.
