SURBA (Studio for Urban Analysis) is dedicated to the analysis of urban phenomenon to improve policy and make real estate development smarter. SURBA helps decision-makers in the private and public sectors assess all the currently available data on city life to ensure the success of their initiatives. Our approach identifies spatial trends and outlines a critical path for policy and development that helps our cities evolve into better environments. We work with existing data sets, build data sets, geo-reference the sets with historically-sensitive maps and then synthesize them into clear, direct and nuanced projects for cities around the world. We work on both project-driven initiatives such as waterfronts, post-industrial redevelopment, and historic-district renovations and on intervention-driven programs such as those with an infrastructure improvement target or an environmental goal related to future growth. SURBA is a venture by Peter Rowe and Carlos Arnaiz with the ambition to apply quantitative insight to achieve real world urban qualitative ends.
