With two decades of entrepreneurial experience under his belt, Carl has navigated the tech industry, successfully founding, growing, and exiting three tech ventures.In 2011, Carl embarked on the journey of co-founding VarageSale as its CEO. His vision for a novel product quickly captivated a global audience, garnering millions of engaged users. Carl\'s strategic leadership propelled the company into the venture capital spotlight, securing $40M USD from premier firms like Sequoia Capital—known for their stakes in giants like Apple and Google—Lightspeed Venture Partners, and FLOODGATE. Under his stewardship, VarageSale blossomed into a powerhouse with a team of over 150, earning recognition as one of Toronto\'s top workplaces, and was awarded Canadian Startup of the Year in 2014. The company\'s trajectory culminated in a successful acquisition in 2017.Earlier, in 2006, Carl\'s entrepreneurial spirit led him to create Defensio, an innovative security suite designed for the burgeoning social network landscape. His foresight and leadership caught the eye of Websense, an industry-leading Internet security company, which acquired Defensio in 2009.
