ABOUT CARLIN STIEHL
Carlin Stiehl is a second-generation Israeli-American photojournalist from Los Angeles, Calif. He has worked intimately in communities of different value systems across the United States, from metropolitan centers to the outreaches of rural society, illustrating human-environmental relationships and humanizing socio-political issues viewed from afar. Carlin received his B.S. in Film & Television with a concentration in Marine Sciences from Boston University where he specialized in narrative documentary storytelling. He then worked in multimedia production in Ethiopia before transitioning into film production in the documentary and commercial industry in Los Angeles. Carlin is also completing his master’s thesis in Photography at Ohio University’s School of Visual Communication. He has worked in newsrooms for The Chesapeake Bay Program, The Kalamazoo Gazette and The Boston Globe, producing short-term daily and long-form documentary work.
