I started life as a musician. I discovered computers in my teens and got hooked on writing code.In 1990 I worked for Voyetra Technologies, writing the sample MIDI files that came in the box with the Creative Labs SoundBlaster.In 1994 I created the first website for Visual Basic developers, Carl & Gary\'s VB Home Page.In I started a hands-on training company teaching week-long VB classes, which later on turned into ASP.NET and VB.NET classes.In I became a Microsoft Regional Director for the NorthEast US.In 2002 I started recording an hour-long talk show for.NET software developers and publishing it as an mp3 file. When podcasting became a \"thing\"​ in 2004 we jumped on that bandwagon. That show had 28 million downloads in 2012! In 2005 I started Pwop Productions to bring our expertise in recording and producing online media into the market. We now produce 5 podcasts every week in the Microsoft.NET and mobile development market.In 2007 Pwop Studios was renovated into a world-class facility.In 2010 Pwop released \"Lifeboat to Nowhere,\"​ the second album by Franklin Brothers, the core of which is myself and my brother Jay Franklin. In 2013 I released a solo album,\"Been a While,\"​ with a song that features John Scofield on guitar (http://carlfranklin.com).In 2014 I started App vNext (http://appvnext.com), a software consultancy with some of the brightest developers in the world.In 2015 I released \"Music to Code By,\"​ (http://mtcb.pwop.com) an album of 25-minute-long instrumental tracks designed to invoke a state of flow and keep you in the zone. The album is being hailed by developers, students, IT people, and others as being \"magic\"​,\"voodoo\"​, and \"scary effective.\"In 2015 I developed Type 2 Diabetes. In 2016 I started the ketogenic diet and reversed my condition, losing 80 pounds. I started a podcast with Richard Morris called 2 Keto Dudes (http://2ketodudes.com) which quickly became very popular. In 2019 I discovered Blazor and began teaching online workshops (http://blazor.appvnext.com). I was contracted by DevExpress to do a worldwide roadshow teaching Blazor (http://blazorroadshow.com) starting in February 2020.In 2020 I picked up the coronavirus and self-isolated. I spent my time developing tools, techniques, and designs for producing great-looking live streams. I learned vMix and used it extensively.I freelance streaming services (audio and video), and also c# and Blazor software development.
