About Carley Quarantello

I am a geologist experienced in geological operations in the Bakken, Eagle Ford, STACK/SCOOP, and Permian plays, as well as geological development and exploration experience in the Eagle Ford and Permian. I\'m career-focused on collaborating in field operations, and in resource mapping, planning, and drilling. I have a geochemistry background from my MSc, which allows for in-depth analysis of pilot and science well data, and efficient, thorough data collection. In geosteering, I resteered over wells to single-handedly set up the Marathon Oil Bakken StarSteer master project, and have actively steered over 300 wells across the U.S. during my career.Academically, I was a longtime research assistant at the Department of Geosciences and Indiana Geological Survey who specialized in organic petrology in several shale plays, including the Bakken and New Albany. I worked on a wide variety of research projects, including work with underground coal gasification (UCG) in Illinois Basin coals, assembling the Indiana component of the National Coal Resources Data System (NCRDS), New Albany shale characterization, and the Integrated Ocean Discovery Program (IODP). My MSc project focused on examining the relationship between permeability and organic/mineral matter connectivity as part of the University of Calgary Tight Oil Consortium. This project produced two publications in the International Journal of Microscopy.
