About Carl C. Norman

Mr. Norman is the Tech Team Deputy Lead and Program Manager with the Technical Branch, Operations Division for AFWERX, the innovation arm of the Department of the Air Force and a directorate under the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), as an employer of contractor Joint Strategic Technologies. Prior work included Program Director-Consultant for SwiftStar Technologies, Inc. He was previously the Program Director for Virtual Systems with Cubic Global Defense (formerly Intific, Inc.). Mr. Norman has served as Project Manager, Program Manager, Program Director, and Business Development Manager for various simulation and virtual system projects for Department of Defense customers, including the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), United States Air Force (USAF), Air National Guard (ANG), U.S. Army, and the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Projects/Programs include the USSOCOM SYN-ISR synthetic Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Full Motion Video simulation, the DARPA PlanX cyberwarfare program, the USSOCOM Social Media Analytic Replication Toolkit (SMART), DARPA Squad Virtual Test Bed (VTB) supporting the DARPA Squad X program, the Cubic/Intific Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) Systems Integration Lab, the DARPA Insight Virtual Environment, the DARPA Persistent Close Air Support (PCAS) Virtual Testbed System (VTS), DARPA NowTu mobile training system, the USAF/ANG A-10C Desktop Training Simulation (DTS), Air Combat Environment (ACE), The AETC Predator/Reaper Integrated Mission Environment (PRIME) MQ-9 DTS, the AFSOC AC-130 Sensor Operator Station & Electronic Warfare Officer Station DTS, the Naval Special Warfare SEAL Delivery Vehicle DTS, the USSOCOM METOC FalconView Overlay project, and the DARPA DARWARS Ambush! Project. He has over 34 years of experience in Program/Project Management, Direction, Business Development, Design, Customer Support, Operations, Marketing, and Sales. Before working on defense applications, Mr. Norman developed and published computer games, with over 20 product titles specializing in wargaming, simulation, and strategy. Mr. Norman is a former United States Marine Corps infantry officer who served in various tactical and administrative billets. His last rank was Captain (O-3). He is an instrument-rated private pilot, a Project Manager Professional, and a Certified Scrum Master. Based on a single-scope background investigation, Mr. Norman is cleared for Top-Secret information and Granted Access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.
