About Carla G. Hernández

I am a passionate educator, school board trustee, researcher, service provider and student dedicated to the intersection of education, neuroscience, social sciences, social justice, mental and physical health services. I am a dedicated advocate for the rights of those with disabilities and the Latinx, Queer, Black and other minority communities. I am interested in using my experience as a low-income, first generation queer Latina to empower and motivate movement across all sectors of society for others. I am a 2015 Teach for America Bay Area Corp Member and a University of Pennsylvania graduate with a B.A. in Cognitive Neuroscience and minors in Psychology and Italian. I hold a Masters in Special Education and a Preliminary Administrative Credential. I am looking to use my coaching and teaching skills to further my knowledge in school and nonprofit management and promote the development of people and their learning.
