ABOUT CARLA THOMAS
With extensive experience in IT transformation, portfolio and program management, integration initiatives, outsourcing, and developing operational support structures, I have worked across multiple industries in support of operational and delivery portfolios. Throughout my experience, my focus has been two-fold: safeguarding and protecting the reliability and integrity of systems and improving speed, innovation, quality, and value within the software development lifecycle. I am particularly effective in leading and managing concurrent initiatives with consistently strong results; I have managed teams as large as 350 and project budgets of more than $20M. In more than a decade with TELUS, I have managed extensive portfolios, advanced roadmaps, reduced operational costs, upgraded systems, spearheaded systems integrations, drove process standardization, centralized technology framework, and increased self-service functionality. As a Senior Manager with Accenture, I worked with external clients to drive large-scale IT transformations, develop operational support structures, and integrate multiple HR systems. A consistent theme in my career is how quickly I become a well-respected collaborator. My peers appreciate the fact that I serve as their business partner, with the technical skills and business acumen to make significant contributions to their unit’s bottom line. By hiring best-fit talent and giving them assignments that will play to their strengths and stretch their capabilities, I have been able to consistently build engaged and effective teams. The employee engagement scores of my teams at TELUS have consistently ranked above the benchmark of “best employer” as indicated by AON Hewitt’s Global Employee Research Database.
