About Carla Bennett
I am a Director of Global Compliance at Chatham Financial, the world\'s largest independent derivatives and hedge accounting advisory and technology firm, where my role includes ensuring that Chatham maintains compliance with an ever-evolving set of global derivatives regulations. During my time at Chatham, I have advised banks, real estate companies and other end users on the impact of global derivatives regulation, consulted with policy-makers and industry groups on the development and implementation of various regulations, and provided in-depth coverage on legal and documentation issues under Dodd-Frank and EMIR. I have also worked with some of the largest swap dealers in the world to help them manage their legal, compliance, operational and reputational risks. Our team partners closely with end users to assess their existing compliance practices, design new operational controls, and implement strategic regulatory risk management programs.Prior to joining Chatham, I practiced law at Duane Morris LLP as a commercial litigator where my areas of practice included non-compete, trade secrets, and unfair competition cases as well as a variety of banking-related issues, including lender liability, the UCC, Electronic Funds Transfer Act, and Fair Credit Reporting Act. I graduated from Drake University with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication and earned my law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame.
