ABOUT CARL WOOLF

Founder of Woolf Law LLP. A specialist Criminal Solicitor Advocate dealing with Private Prosecutions and Criminal Defence for almost 3 decades. Highly experienced trial lawyer. Profile Summary• Accredited Police Station Advisor and Magistrates Court Duty Solicitor• Crown Court and Court of Appeal Solicitor Advocate - Higher Rights of Audience (Crime)• Visiting Associate Professor at Brunel University• Visiting Lecturer at Goldsmiths UniversityHere are just some recent examples of cases I have dealt with.R v SD – the Defendants were charged with defrauding local authorities, public bodies and a foreign bank in an Asset Finance fraud valued at £160 million pounds. Trial lasted 6 months.R v – SH - a multi handed Lettings Agency fraud valued at hundreds of thousands of pounds involving fake properties and bogus tenants.R v KB – the Defendant was a Solicitor charged with a multi-jurisdictional fraud valued at 100 million Euros against a foreign Oil Company involving forged financial documents alleging over $2 billion worth of assets. Trial lasted 6 months.R v MM – the Defendant was a Company Director charged in a multi million pound Carbon Credit Fraud.R v SE – the Defendant was charged in what was described by the Prosecution as “the Worlds Largest ever Ebay Fraud” concerning the sale of counterfeit golf clubs imported from China and sold around the world. Trial lasted 5 months.R v – the Defendant, who was a high ranking Bank Official was charged with perpetrating a fraud on her employer, a major UK Clearing Bank. The defence involved issues of 3rd party duress and blackmail.• Private Prosecutions - Having acted as a Private prosecutor for 8 years, I understand the frustrations that the cuts to public funding in the Criminal Justice System have led to. Private prosecutions are increasing in their use and I am best placed to advise on the benefits and the pitfalls of clients thinking of taking out Private Prosecutions.• Witness Preparation - Strict rules exist as to what pre-trial preparation can be undertaken by a Witness to help familiarise themselves with the process and stresses of giving evidence in a Civil or Criminal trial. As a specialist trainer I am available on request to help prepare anyone who is due to attend court as a Witness in order to help them give the best evidence possible.
