I recently joined Advantous Consulting where I lead the continued growth of a strong property tax practice, and help strengthen Advantous’ multi-state presence. I serve as the firm’s primary advisor on Texas state and local tax policy, representing Advantous across key industry, regulatory, and legislative forums.I continue to serve on the Texas Association of Appraisal Districts’ PTAD/TDLR Liaison Committee and Industry Liaison Committee, reflecting my ongoing involvement in property tax administration and policy discussions.Prior to Advantous, I led the Texas Taxpayers and Research Association’s (TTARA) work on property tax policy. In that role, I was actively involved in legislative efforts related to property tax exemptions, incentives, tax rate limitations, interim charge studies, and broader property tax system improvements. I authored multiple property tax briefs and reports and led TTARA members in developing and passing the JETI Act. I regularly testified before legislative committees and participated in speaking engagements, including industry luncheons, professional conferences, webcasts, podcasts, and legal seminars.Earlier in my career, I spent more than 15 years with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, serving in progressive tax leadership roles, including Property Tax Manager. My experience includes property tax appraisal, compliance, tax policy review, and analysis of local jurisdiction budgets and tax rates. I served on multiple industry committees, chaired the TXOGA Local Jurisdictions Subcommittee, and led industry negotiations with state taxing authorities. During this time, I also gained extensive local government affairs experience. I also bring experience in severance tax and state and local income/franchise tax matters.I am a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a registered Texas lobbyist, and hold a BBA in Accounting, Finance, and Real Estate from Baylor University.
