About Carl Shipley
For more than 26 years, I have used my passion for law enforcement, public safety, and community security in positions of progressive experience for the U.S. Coast Guard. Most of my training, education, and real-world experience has focused on aligning trainings, equipment, and curricula to meet the objectives needed for safely undertaking dangerous situations, especially knowing how to mitigate unnecessary injury and manage potentially harmful threats to specialized forces personnel. Throughout my career I have built a progressive skillset that allows me to understand the safety needs of the diverse law enforcement teams and mission groups I am responsible for so they are given the best protection for guaranteeing their security. In my leadership roles, I often am in charge of collaborating with industry professionals and internal leaders to advocate for particular equipment procurements and/or policy updating that address the crisis response needs of coast guard members placed in the field. The work I do to represent the safety needs of others is done so that I can tailor specific protocols and prepare overarching mission readiness plans to meet any protection needs that may arise. Whether it be in communication, professional training, response facilitation, or law enforcement coordination, I have gained a long list of achievements during my career as a successful leader and cultivator of strong relationships within the safety and security community. The biggest skills I’ve become adept at are knowing how to identify opportunities to strengthen safety protocols, prevent harmful or terrorist actions, and coordinate logistics between specialized security teams. This proficient knowledge paired with my versatility with a broad range of armed services experiences gives me a great advantage for enhancing a team’s potential at achieving all high-level program objectives.
