Carl is a graduate from the Specialized Master of Finance program at The Ohio State University who is a Credit Analyst / Assistant Vice President at U.S. Bank.During his time at Ohio State, Carl emphasized his studies in investment management. In this track, he took courses in such fields as Fixed Income, Equity Analysis, and Derivatives. While in his Core Capstone course, Carl and four other students analyzed a corporation within the S&P 500 Index and issued an investment recommendation off of their research. Their research utilized Pro Forma Financial Statement Analysis, DCF analysis, Market Multiple Analysis, and Relative Valuation. Covering different sectors also allowed him to widen his knowledge of other industries. Throughout this class, the tasks performed by the analysts included sector allocation, risk analysis, return decomposition, relative valuation, discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, monte Carlo DCF analysis. This course has provided Carl the opportunity to perform the same tasks as an analyst, while still expanding his knowledge base on various concepts and programs (Excel, Python).
