ABOUT CARL HAWKES
Multi-award winning third sector leader who is passionate about creating change for good. I have overseen a number of strategic projects during my time at FareShare UK which has supported our significant growth over the past 4 years. I initially led a £12million project developing our infrastructure, which enabled FareShare to double in size and reach. This project won 3 awards over the 3 years the project was delivered (2 x Charity Times and Business Charity Awards). Through my leadership, I have developed and built teams/projects all of which contributed to FareShare\'s success over the past 4 years. I have taken on the responsibility of several functions and accounts, which have allowed me to across the food industry, charity sector and government. As an example, I led and managed £26 million of Defra grants, tackling the negative impact of the COVID19 pandemic. My significant contributions to FareShare have been recognised and I was named one of the winner of The Grocer\'s Top New Talent 2021. My work also contributed to FareShare being named the Charity of the Year 2021 at the Charity Times Awards. I am also a proud Board member of Leeds Community Foundation, who distribute £5m of grants across Leeds each year. As part of my role I also Chair the Programmes Subcommittee. In additional, I am an associate lecturer at Leeds Beckett University, lecturing on food systems.
