ABOUT CARL BETTS

I am responsible for the management of the team at Open Trustees and I predominately work on our ongoing scheme appointments.I have 24 years’ experience in providing pensions administration, pensions consulting, actuarial and trustee services. My specialist areas for many years have been scheme management and scheme governance. Prior to moving to Open Trustees in 2019 I was lead consultant for 10 years with primary responsibility for the consulting and scheme management on a wide variety of defined benefit pension schemes. My background, notably within pensions actuarial and scheme consulting, has stood me in good stead to provide excellent support to co trustees and scheme sponsors. Having graduated from the University of Exeter with an honours degree in Economics and Social Policy I have since obtained the Chartered Insurance Institute’s (CII) Regulated Diploma in Financial Planning, the Pension Management Institute’s Certificate in Pension Scheme Member Guidance, and have passed all Advanced Diploma Pensions exams provided through the CII. I am also a fully accredited as a professional trustee by the Association of Professional Pension Trustees.
